Yes, this is truly where i belong.
At times, my country reminds me of the teen who fails to see how awesome he is, and instead engages in a lifestyle that tries to be everyone else. You wish that he could be comfortable in his own identity and in that sense find acceptance most by trying least.
However, on another perspective, in good and bad times, we stayed united, looked over the horizon, and moved carefully but resolutely forward. On this anniversary of my country independence, let us take pride in our achievements, tackle the challenges together and continue to build an even better and more vibrant Singapore.
I'm so proud to be a Singaporean!
